As a part of the curriculum, we were supposed to get involved and interact with any NGO of our choice. We were expected to do workshops and end with a new branding and brand image for the NGO. This was supposed to be a group activity and I teamed up with my classmates Mustafa & Daniel.

Don Bosco Ashalayam runs an orphanage in India. They provide shelter to children who have gone through a lot at a very young age. These children were mostly victims of severe domestic abuse which has scarred them both mentally and physically. A lot of them were (before they were taken in) repeat offenders, pickpockters & armed robbers. Additially these children suffer from severe learning disorder & malnutrition.

We got in touch with the Don Bosco Ashlayam in Kolkata, India and flew all the way from UK to India to conduct design thinking and simple problem workshops in Kolkata.

This is one of the posters based on some of the real stories we heard from the children. This poster speaks about 4 stories of suffering and rescue and 1 story of success. This is just a small example of the different stories of life that we heard.

The video Documentary

At the end of the event, we rebranded their NGO and promoted their work across India and UK. This eventually helped more donations come in.
